Itinerary

  • Welcome to Almaty, Central Asia's most vibrant city. Transfer to the hotel, check-in.
  • Short orientation tour of Almaty city in the evening followed by Gala dinner and Kazakh VIP show.
  • Overnight at Hotel Mercure or similar.

  • After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel we head to Medeu and Shymbulak Ski Resort.
  • Enjoy the world-famous alpine skating rink Medeu is famous for its world speed skating records. By cable car you will climb to Shymbulak at 3200 mtrs above sea level, where in winter you can ski and in summer reach the highest point, The Talgar pass, where you can hike through the mountains or admire the beautiful views in the cool mountain breeze.
  • Lunch at one of the finest cafes at Medeu (Optional)
  • Later some shopping at Green Bazar with outlet of Rakhat chocolate factory (Optional)
  • The Green Bazaar in Almaty looks like an oriental bazaar, where they sell everything that your heart desires: from meat, spices and dry fruits to textiles and furniture. Shop till you drop.
  • If you want to relax your muscles you can visit the Arasan Baths. Located in the centre of town near Panfilov Park, the Arasan baths offer a luxury spa experience at affordable prices in one of Kazakhstan’s most interesting Modernist buildings. Once inside the bath house, you can choose between Finnish sauna, Russian banya, Turkish steam baths or the Moroccan hammam. To cool down, take a bucket shower and float in the circular plunge pool. (Optional)

  • After Breakfast we head to the Big Almaty Lake. Big Almaty Lake is located at an altitude of 2511m on the upper side of the Almaty canyon. The Almaty River runs through it. It is located 2.511m above sea level. There are three peaks Sovetov (4,317 m), Ozyorny (4,110 m), and Turist (3,954 m) surrounding the lake, which can be seen from the northern end of the dam. The lake is made up of glacial water and is 1.6 km long, 1 km wide, and approximately 40m deep. Turist, a 3,681m high pyramid, is the crest of Bolshoi Almaty Peak and is visible from the city center.
  • Visit the Hunting Birds Show. 5 kinds of birds, including golden and bold eagles, owl, vulture and a falcon will demonstrate their hunting skills under the guidance of a professional trainer Paul. The show lasts for 40 min.
  • After lunch visit the Kok-Tobe Park on the mountain hill. Kok Tobe is a mountain in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city. Kók Tóbe Park, a popular recreation area, is on top of the mountain. The mountain's height is 1100 meters above sea level. Kok Tobe is one of the main landmarks in the city, and it is popular among visitors and tourists to Almaty. Look out for the Bronze Beatles statue. Beatlemania is still going strong in Kazakhstan.

  • After Breakfast we have a choice to visit the Ethno Village to experience the Kazakh way of Life. Reviving and reliving nomadic past at Huns ethno village near Almaty. The Huns Ethno village is an ideal place for those willing to relive the nomadic past of ethnic Kazakhs. The village, about 35 kilometres from Almaty in the Talgar district, is also a great way to escape to the mountains for a breath of fresh air, horseback riding and adventure. Built from the outside as a tiny fort, the Huns offers vast views of the mountains and a mix of traditional Kazakh yurts and Soviet-looking hubs.

  • Yanar dagh (Mountain fire) – Yanar Dagh is situated 25 km northeast of Baku. The reason that this place is worth checking out is its continuous fire, which never extinguishes. The flame derives from the gas reserves beneath the land and is a spectacle to see.
  • Fire Worshippers Temple – called “Ateshgah” in Surakhani district of Baku in the distance of 20 km from Baku.
  • Heydar Aliyev Center – Built by Zaha Hadid, this center won the “Design of the Year” award on July 1, 2014. The center includes memorial gallery of Heydar Aliyev (ruler of Azerbaijan during Soviet era in 1969-1982 and president of Azerbaijan from 1993 to 2003), art gallery, concert and library halls, restaurant and conference hall.
  • Boulevard – The park stretches along a south-facing bay on the Caspian Sea. It traditionally starts at Freedom Square continuing west to the Old City and beyond. Since 2012, the Yeni Boulevard has virtually doubled the length to 3.75 km, extending the promenades to National Flag Square.
  • Mini Venice – If you haven’t visited The City of Canals, Baku’s mini-Venice will give you a taste. The small area on Baku Boulevard has two large islands and smaller ones interconnected with bridges. A top Baku attraction for a romantic evening.

  • After breakfast visit to Upland park- open beautiful panoramic view of Baku
  • Flame Towers – (Azerbaijani: Alov qüllələri) is a trio of skyscrapers in Baku, Azerbaijan, the height of the tallest tower is 182 m.
  • Carpet Museum – Also known as the state museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Art museum in the center of Baku.
  • Old Town – Baku’s UNESCO-listed fortified old town was once the medieval capital of the Shirvan Shahs. Today, it’s the capital’s heart with Maiden Tower, traditional carpet weavers, bars and restaurants. Visiting traders in a bygone era often referred to Icheri Sheher as the Acropolis of Baku.
  • Gobustan and Mud Volcano– The mud volcano landscape at Gobustan National Park is one of the most interesting things to see in Azerbaijan.
  • Nizami street – The streets runs through the city’s downtown from west to east. Nizami street is home to various outlets, from banks to fashion stores and is one of the most street in the city.

  • Local Sim Card. You’ll need a passport and your hotel registration to buy a Kazakh SIM card.
  • Time Zone. Indian Standard Time is 30 minutes behind Kazakhstan.
  • Plug and Socket. Kazakhstan, there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Kazakhstan operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz.
  • Carry a big wallet. Kazakhstan’s currency is Tenge. International credit cards are starting to come into use, but they are by no means widely accepted or reliable. Instead, bring dollars and change them at any bank or big hotel.
  • Climate. Almaty average temperature fluctuates between 15.8°C (60.4°F) and 27.5°C (81.5°F).
  • Clothing. In spring and summer, lightweight clothing is best during the day and warmer clothing for colder nights. During autumn and winter layers work best. We recommend taking a hat, gloves, scarf and a fleece jumper. In winter a thick waterproof and windproof jacket is required and you may need thermals also. There may be a chance to go for a swim or enjoy spa activities, so keep a swim suit handy. Ladies should keep a headscarf to cover their head when entering religious sites.
  • Footwear. Comfortable slippers or sandals for relaxing and walking shoes for walking tours.
