About this tour

Discover lesser travelled destinations, Explore their beauty and Learn about the culture of Nepal. Nepal, country of Asia, lying along the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountain ranges is a landlocked country located between India to the east, south, and west and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north. Its territory extends roughly 500 miles (800 kms) from east to west and 90 to 150 miles from north to south. The capital is Kathmandu or Kantipur, lies in a hilly region near the confluence of the Baghmati and Vishnumati rivers, at an elevation of 4,344 feet (1,324 mtrs) above sea level. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage property is inscribed as seven Monument Zones. These monument zones are the Durbar squares or urban centres with their palaces, temples and public spaces of the three cities of Kathmandu (Hanuman Dhoka), Patan and Bhaktapur, and the religious ensembles of Swayambhu, Bauddhanath, Pashupati and Changu Narayan. The religious ensemble of Swayambhu includes the oldest Buddhist monument (a stupa) in the Valley; that of Boudhanath includes the largest stupa in Nepal; Pashupati has an extensive Hindu temple precinct, and Changu Narayan comprises traditional Newari settlement, and a Hindu temple complex with one of the earliest inscriptions in the Valley from the fifth century AD. The unique tiered temples are mostly made of fired brick with mud mortar and timber structures. The roofs are covered with small overlapping terracotta tiles, with gilded brass ornamentation. The windows, doorways and roof struts have rich decorative carvings. The stupas have simple but powerful forms with massive, whitewashed hemispheres supporting gilded cubes with the all-seeing eternal Buddha eyes.

  • After a leisurely breakfast visit Boudhanath. Situated 7 kilometres from the centre of Thamel, Boudhanath welcomes you to the Land of Buddha—which is quite apt, considering Buddhism is one of the major religions practiced here, along with Hinduism. The skyline is dominated by the landmark stupa of Boudhanath that features a massive mandala, making it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. Said to contain the remains of Kassapa Buddha, it is one of the country's most revered sites, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a wonderful, peaceful (albeit crowded) place to spend the day, filled with quaint cafes, and shops selling Buddhist memorabilia like meditation bowls and flags. Later we proceed to visit the Jala Narayan Temple (Sleeping Vishnu), Kathmandu Durbar Square(Living Kumari Goddess ) & Swayambhunath Stupa (World Heritage site) later drive back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Ramada Hotel Kathmandu or similar.

  • After breakfast drive to Chandragiri hill continue to take Cable car ride(3 Hours) darshan of Bhaleswar Mahadev Temple afternoon drive to Patan Darbur Square (Krishna Mandir) and after lunch later drive back to hotel. Rest and evening free to explore the hidden gems of Kathmandu.
  • Overnight at Ramada Hotel Kathmandu or similar.

  • Today after breakfast we visit the The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the kids to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.
