Two centuries later Shymkent became part of the Kazakh Khanate, and in subsequent years it became the object of the claims of the Dzungarian rulers.

After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel we head Hodzha Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum (UNESCO Heritage) The construction of the mausoleum of Khoja Akhmet Yasavi was carried out in the period from 1385 to 1405, and the architectural monument itself was erected at the behest of Emir Timur (Tamerlane) in honor of the famous Sufi (ancient Turkic) poet and preacher Akhmet Yasavi in the place where his modest tombstone was previously located. Tamerlane celebrated his victory over Khan Tokhtamysh, the ruler of the Golden Horde, by starting the construction of a new mausoleum on the site of the old and dilapidated one.
Kultobe settlement - The settlement Kultobe is the oldest cultural, religious and trade center of the Great Silk Road, which at different times was called Shavgar-Yasy-Turkestan. The surveyed archaeological sites reveal a unique picture of the city’s life in the context of four most important historical periods of Kazakhstan.
Ethnic park “Ethnoaul Turkestan” - The Ethnic Park, located in Turkestan, will introduce you to the cultural traditions of the nomadic peoples of Kazakhstan and give an idea of the way of life and customs of ancient times. It is part of the territory of the Azret-Sultan State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum.Conventionally, the ethno-aul is divided into two parts: on one side there are yurts, including the main khan’s yurt (a paved path leads to it), where those who wish can get to know this amazing dwelling of nomads, the internal and external structure, as well as the history of the yurt. On the other side is artisans Street, made in medieval style – straw-clay rectangular rooms with arched windows. There tourists get acquainted with the traditional crafts of nomads, such as carpet weaving, felting, making wooden, stone, jewelry, pottery, etc. All rooms are equipped with special tools. There is a gastronomic zone where dishes of national cuisine are presented. In addition, on the territory of the village there is a platform for performances, a decorative cart, an ancient well, an Altai-bakan swing, gazebos, a shooting range, ancient stoves, etc. The location for the ethnic park was chosen very well – right behind the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Thanks to the opening panorama with ancient buildings, the atmosphere of the medieval city feels even sharper and brighter. The city of Turkestan has long been recognized as the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. A charming story of amazing love! Come and plunge into the legendary story of the magical parade of boats in the Caravanserai! An exciting dance, sound and music show on the water channel will allow you to immerse yourself in the Kazakh poetic folk legend "Kyz-Zhibek and Tolegen", which dates back to the XVI century. The spectacular parade is the legendary love story of Tolegen - war, known for his bravery, and Zhibek, known for his beauty, will touch your heart and soul. The Boat Parade show will tell this romantic story in the form of a theatrical performance moving along a water channel. The main part will begin in the harbor of Caravanserai. Each boat will portray different characters and will lead visitors on a journey full of imagination.

Gondola ride: The complex "KaravanSaray" has water channels for boating and gondolas. Riding a gondola is not just sailing in a boat, but an extraordinary rite that people perform when visiting the wonderful city of Turkestan.
"Kyz Kuu" horse show: The show was based on a traditional Kazakh game with the same name "Kyz Kuu". In our show, this game takes not only a romantic current, but also the mystical side of traveling in the name of love. Through difficulties and obstacles, our heroes will rush on beautiful horses along the Kaindy Lake and its inhabitants (aerial acrobats), meet the Black Rider in the Charyn Canyon.

After Breakfast we depart Turkestan for Shymkent International airport for our return flight. Depending on flight timings we visit the Otrar Fortress and the Akmeshit Cave. Otrar Fortress, also known as Farab, was a significant cultural and trade center. In addition, it was of great diplomatic and military strategic importance. In the past century, the first studies and excavations were carried out, discovering an ancient palace, mosques, and baths. Antique ceramics, metal tools, coins, and jewelry were also found. Now these artifacts can be seen in museums across the country.The city has a history dating back 2 thousand years. Visitors will be able to learn it thoroughly. The government with the assistance of UNESCO is working on the preservation of historical monuments.
Akmeshit Cave - According to a legend, women and children found shelter here during Dzungarian invasion. Some even say that an evil dragon, chased away by the prophet Suleiman, had lived in the cave for years. The cave has a peculiar microclimate. It is usually warmer inside it than outside, in spring it is cooler inside. In addition, trees do not grow in the vicinity of the cave, but inside it there is an oasis with its own ecosystem. This unusual phenomenon strikes the imagination of any traveler.

Travel Guide

Local Sim Card. You’ll need a passport and your hotel registration to buy a Kazakh SIM card.
Time Zone. Indian Standard Time is 30 minutes behind Kazakhstan.
Plug and Socket. Kazakhstan, there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Kazakhstan operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz.
Carry a big wallet. Kazakhstan’s currency is Tenge. International credit cards are starting to come into use, but they are by no means widely accepted or reliable. Instead, bring dollars and change them at any bank or big hotel.
Climate. Almaty average temperature fluctuates between 15.8°C (60.4°F) and 27.5°C (81.5°F).
Clothing. In spring and summer, lightweight clothing is best during the day and warmer clothing for colder nights. During autumn and winter layers work best. We recommend taking a hat, gloves, scarf and a fleece jumper. In winter a thick waterproof and windproof jacket is required and you may need thermals also. There may be a chance to go for a swim or enjoy spa activities, so keep a swim suit handy. Ladies should keep a headscarf to cover their head when entering religious sites.
Footwear. Comfortable slippers or sandals for relaxing and walking shoes for walking tours.
Luggage. One main piece of baggage of around 20kgs and a daypack for personal items. Remember that you may have to carry your own luggage so don't overload yourself.
Tipping. Tipping isn't compulsory. You may however, want to recognize the work of a guide or driver that has done a great job. We would recommend $3 to $7 per person per day depending on the size of the group and accompanying staff.
Visa & Passport Control. Kazakhstan allows Indian travellers Visa on Arrival for a maximum period of 14 days and a total of 42 days within 180 days.
